Your Bio

Howdy All,

I am a motorcycle enthusiast, I hate the term biker. I have been riding since 1963, have owned or ridden just about anything that's been made that has two wheels and an engine.

I now have in my stable everything from a Harley Twin cam Road King Classic, to a Suzuki DRZ400S, a BMW R1150GS, a Yamaha YZF-R1, an old British bike and other assorted two wheeled contraptions thrown in for good measure. The newest member of the herd is a Ural Gear-Up, so it's plain to see that I enjoy the full spectrum of motorcycling

I will use these galleries to store and to share my photos of my two wheeled adventures. I am not much with computers and I am still in the learning curve when it comes to cameras, so as you view what's here, if you have any suggestions that you feel may help me to take better photos please send them my way. Thank you.

1982 Harley-Davidson FXWG : THIS BIKE IS FOR SALE, $10,000.00 comes with MANY parts contact me if your interested. In May of 1982, I bought my first brand new Harley, over the years it has gone through many changes from stock to show bike to RAT. This is how it now looks in it's RAT configuration. The engine is fitted with an S&S Big Bore Kit, it is now at 88 cubic inchs, Anderews AB cam, Crane H-4 single fire dual plug ignition. After I took the Tubo-charger off the bike, I sold all of the fancy painted parts and bolted on some old dented and scruffy things, brush painted it OD Green and made it a RAT. Don't judge a book by it's cover, it may look like shit but it runs like HELL. Life is good.

Dave and Donna go camping : Me and my wife Donna, recently went on our first camping trip together using the truck and camper combination, we had a GREAT time. We stayed at four different State Parks, two were next to the Pacific Ocean, one next to the south end of Puget Sound, the other near a State Forest that included an ORV park where rode our Dual Sport motorcycles. One of the hi-lights of the trip was when we visited a huge game park where we could drive through and feed the many different type of animals. Having a full grown Buffalo or Elk stick it's head into your truck while your feeding it can be a bit unnerving but it was fun. I hope you enjoy the photos as much we did the trip. Life is good.

This year I went on this ride and had a great time. We rode over some of the most remote terrain you can get to in Washington State, on old logging roads and mining trails, some overgrown and extremely narrow with cliffs along the side. Being a person who is not comfortable with heights or narrow roads I was not in my comfort zone for much of the trip but I will go again next year because as an old saying goes, "Don't let your fears get in the way of your dreams." How to install a kick starter on the DRZ400S : This is one of the best modifications that I have done to the DRZ400S. Stock, this bike does not have a kick starter, this is something I was never comfortable with. The Kick Starter Kit, that is sold by Suzuki lists the kit as only fitting the DRZ400E, the kit WILL FIT the DRZ400S, the DRZ400S cylinder head is not machined to accept the manual decompression lever, so it and it's associated parts are not used, the rest of the kit bolts right in. A couple of weeks ago while deep into some very nasty mountain terrain, the battery failed and I had a Hell of a time getting back to where the truck was parked. That was it, never again, I decided to install the kicker. In this gallery you will find detailed step by step photos and commentary describing how to accomplish this task. Life is good.

The right tools make all the differance. : I am tired of paying someone else to change my motorcycle tires. With as many bikes as I have paying someone to put new tires on becomes very costly real soon. I picked up this tire changer and now do all my own tire swaps. This tool makes a hard job a lot easier, tools really do make the differance. Life is good.
