My Dodge Ram 3500 Dually - Page 5 - Mr-Cob's Photos

This will be a gallery of my Dodge Ram 3500 Dually truck. It is a 2003, equipped with the Cummins 5.9 diesel engine and the 48RE automatic transmission. I have already made many modifications to the truck and will add photos to document this ongoing process. Life is good.

Mr-Cob > This is the rear mud flap.

Mr-Cob > I have just added three new gauges to my truck. Here's a shot of the stock dash and the new gauges.

Mr-Cob > Mounted on the "A" pillar, is a Auto transmission fluid temperature gauge. The sending unit is mounted in the cooling line that goes from the transmission to the cooler, this gives a reading that represents the hottest fluid in the system.

Mr-Cob > Mounted on top of the steering column, on the left is a Boost gauge, it monitors the amount of boost the Turbo-Charger is producing at any given time. On the right is a Pyrometer, it registers the exhaust temperature before it enters the Turbo-Charger. The probe for the Pyro is mounted pre-turbo and at a place in the exhaust manifold where it will measure the hottest exhaust gases.

Mr-Cob > A man and his truck, a beautiful thing, well the truck anyway.

Mr-Cob > Wonderful colors in the sky and rocks.

Mr-Cob > I have replaced the stock air filter with an "AFE" and installed a smooth intake pipe system. This has improved airflow which has lowered the EGT's by over 200 degrees when the truck is working under a heavy load.

Mr-Cob > The stock fuel tank vent on the Dodge diesel trucks is way to small. It takes forever to fill the fuel tank. Here we have removed the tank in preparation for the installation of a larger fuel tank vent.

Mr-Cob > Here we have removed the fuel pump and fuel level sending unit. This allows access to the inside of the fuel tank.
