Mr-Cob > This is an M-48A3, this was at our Platoon area in Lai Khe.
Mr-Cob > This is a damaged M-48A3, loaded on a flatbed trailer. It will be hauled to the rear and repaired or stripped for parts if it is too badly hit.
Mr-Cob > This is a VTR, ( Vehicle Tracked Recovery ) it is a armored wrecker built on a M-48 chassis. The wrecker boom is extended in this photo, it was used to lift and pull engines and drive train items while in the field. The crews of these rigs accompanied us into the field and were often times called upon to retrieve damaged Tracks during the heat of battle. These were some brave men with a tough and thankless job.
